Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™

Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ is a non-powered reactive pressure redistribution support surface for prevention of pressure injuries, early intervention of multiple stage I-II pressure injuries and treatment of a single stage III pressure injury in patients weighing up to 500 pounds. Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ is indicated for patients who can be positioned off the pressure injury/injuries in at least 2 positions, patients with decreased mobility and patients who frequently reposition by themselves or by a caregiver.

The Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ provides clinical benefits by leveraging its specially designed Geo-Matt® and its Shear Transfer Zones® design to protect patients against key pressure injury risk factors including shearing, pressure, heat and moisture. The clinically proven Geo-Matt® anti-shearing surface reduces the risk of pressure injuries with over 800 individually responsive cells that prevent skin shear by allowing the surface to move with the patient during repositioning. Its exclusive Ring-of-Air® channels wick heat and moisture away from the patient better than alternative solid foam or straight-cut foam designs.

The Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ provides anatomically-calibrated support and immersion throughout the surface with the Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ 3-Dimensional Zoning™ core design to promote maximum comfort for longer, more restful sleep that can be a critical contributor to healing and recovery.

The Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ strategic design combined with robust and durable materials, including UHP 500™ Ultra High Performance Foam, minimizes surface degradation from mechanical fatigue caused by repeated bending of the mattress, head of bed elevation and subsequent patient weight concentration. Not only does this design help provide unmatched protection from "bottoming out", it yields superior resiliency and recovery.

Heels are an anatomoical area especially at risk for pressure injury development. To protect this vulnerable anatomy, the Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ has segmented viscoelastic foam to cradle and protect the heels while Heel Slope®, a subtle tapering of the mattress, redistributes weight and pressure to the more pressure–tolerant lower legs.

Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ utilizes robust infection control and prevention features for maximal durability and long-term effect. Such features include a moisture vapor barrier; a bacteriostatically treated cover made from antimicrobial, polycarbonate-fortified, cleanable LifeSPAN® fabric; and a 3-sided, flapped zipper. The Geo-Mattress® UltraMax™ can be wiped clean with standard hospital-grade cleaners while the LifeSPAN® fabric is bleach-resistant.
